The Gymboo Sports and Exercise Flooring line of products marries a rapidly renewable and abundantly available raw material, bamboo, with state-of-the-art fabrication techniques to produce a superior “engineered” solid flooring option for everything from basketball courts to yoga studios. Available in a solid nail-down installation for use in traditional gymnasiums and sports complexes, as well as a “floating” version designed specifically for exercise, yoga, and dance applications, Gymboo is a viable, proven, and economical replacement to the slow growing woods traditionally used. Both systems, Gymboo Sport and Gymboo Float, are coupled with proprietary, Gymboo-specific pad systems designed to not only enhance user performance with each floor’s perspective application, but also to meet or exceed all safety requirements of an athletic floor.

Gymboo™ Sport:

Gymboo™ Sport was designed specifically to replace the traditional “nail-down” maple sports flooring used in recreation and competition sports venues. Gymboo™ Sport is a functionally superior product to maple in consistency, strength, and stability. And environmentally, the raw material for Gymboo™ Sport is abundant and rapidly renewable. Gymboo takes approximately 6 years from “seed” to finished floor, whereas maple takes an average of about 60 years. Gymboo Sport gives the sports industry a suitable way to change with the times, with no sacrifice in quality, or deviation from normal installation procedures.

Gymboo Float™ – Install and Go™

Gymboo Float™ offers similar benefits to those found with the Gymboo Sport system. It is designed specifically for smaller exercise spaces that require excellent impact absorption, including yoga, dance and exercise studios, which might benefit from quicker installation. Gymboo Float can usually be installed in a day, and is ready for use immediately. The proprietary fastening system on the Gymboo Float allows the floor to float freely on the shock absorbing substrate layer. This removes the need for nails or glue, and enables simple and cost-effective deconstruction if the floor ever needs to be relocated. The shock-absorbing padding beneath the flooring helps the users by providing sufficient force reduction for those exercising on it, minimizing joint and impact injuries as would be more common on rigid flooring products (concrete finish, wood on slab, etc.). Once installed, maintenance is a breeze due to the durability of the factory-applied, low-VOC finish – sweep/vacuum, and dry mop as needed. Due to the thickness of the Gymboo Float planks, the floor can be sanded many times, which effectively prolongs the product’s useful life.
